Many students were baffled on their walk to class Wed. and Thu. when a man wearing a sandwich board that read "Repent or Perish" was spreading his religious beliefs through what many considered an unorthodox method. The man, who said his name was Tracy Mays, shouted lines such as "I am here to judge" and "I am without sin.
"This is a very green facility," project engineer Tim Prater said, describing the geothermal cooling unit that is part of the University Center expansion project. Geothermal cooling essential uses air cooled by chilling it from water that is accessed from underground water passages.
"Soul of a People, Writing America's Story" is a major television documentary to be nationally broadcast Sept. 6 and 7, and again Monday Sept. 14 on the Smithsonian Channel. There will be a showing of the film 7 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 29 in Clark Memorial Library's Flohr Lecture Hall, with discussion to follow facilitated by Shawnee State history professor Dr.
In May 2009, Michael Powell Ph.D. assumed the role of Chair of the Department of English and Humanities, when Darren Harris-Fain Ph.D., stepped down from his three-year term. "Dr. James Flavin, professor emeritus, told me that I would learn a lot, and he was absolutely right," Powell said.
