SSU's film society, Cineaste, plans to host a "bring your own movie" night in place of their scheduled film April 30 in Massie 438.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a movie or two of their choice to the meeting. The attendees are then going to vote on what movie they want to watch.

"I think it is a good idea to have a "bring your own movie night" with the semester coming to an end," Derek Dawson, senior English major said. "I look forward to seeing what people bring."

While the scheduled film was "For the Bible Tells Me So," President Rebecca Cox wanted a change of pace.

"By having a bring-your-own-movie night we will hopefully be able to see what kinds of films people are interested in seeing," Cox said.

The idea of a voting process is encouraging Cineaste attendee Amber Rosier to bring in a genre that she feels has been neglected.

"I enjoy anime films and there are a lot of non-mainstream films that are awesome," Rosier said. "I plan to bring a couple of my favorites and hopefully one of them will be chosen."

"There are no films being barred from consideration so everyone, if possible, should bring something for everyone to vote on," Cox said.
