While watching a production that evokes so many smiles and giggles, one may ponder then hear this very inner monologue "They look like they are having fun…I wonder what they are thinking".
So to answer you…for you, we asked this very specific question via e-mail "If you could say anything about this comedy with music or your experiences while preparing for and performing it, what that would be?" and 5 cast members replied with the following responses:
"This show provided us with new people, ones who have never been in a Shawnee production before. I think they did a fantastic job and blended really well with the old crew. Everyone just seemed to bond together and become a family, which helped a lot, because we had only about 5 weeks to pull the show together…they worked hard, complained little and laughed a lot. They are a funny group that just got funnier as opening night came up. They became my family. Though, we had our moments and it wasn't my favorite show, I wouldn't change the experience for anything. It was just such a positive and uplifting atmosphere. They are a great group of people and I cannot wait to start it all again [I can just see things being thrown at me now...lol]. Now that I have stage managed so much, I am itching like mad to get onstage....here's crossing my fingers for next semester!!!" - Kit Kongos
"The Good Doctor was a little more difficult than the other plays we have done. When we finally started rehearsing, we did not have much time left, especially with spring break right in the middle. It was fun though, and the experience taught me quite a bit about what is necessary for a show. Time constraints kept us from doing everything we wanted to with the set, but we worked hard in order to sacrifice as little as possible. An experience like this also shows an actor of what he is capable. Except for me, everyone had at least two characters, and those characters had to be different. It was interesting to watch these characters develop within the same person, as if they had split personality. The performances are always fun. You get to see and hear the payoff of all your hard work in the faces of the audience as they watch the play. I think it is safe to say we all had a great time and I know that if given the chance, I would do it again and again" - Ben Ott
