1.) What is your full name? Ann Gilles Linden
2.) Where were you born and where did you grow up? I was born in southern California and grew up mostly in Phoenix.
3.) What was your favorite childhood memory? Summers spent at my grandparents' cabin, which had no running water or electricity, on a beautiful lake in Maine.
4.) What are you most afraid of? Bees.
5.) What is your favorite and least favorite food? Favorite: Potatoes
Least favorite: Oysters
6.) Tell us something unexpected about yourself. I used to be a tour guide at Universal Studios-Hollywood.
7.) What is your favorite movie? It's really hard to pick just one. Maybe a classic like Singin' in the Rain or It's a Wonderful Life.
8.) What is your favorite television show? West Wing
9.) What is your favorite band/musician? Laura Shine (a fabulous Louisville singer, songwriter, and DJ)
10.) What is your favorite book? Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss-it made me fall in love with books before I could even read them.
11.) If you were not an SSU professor, what would you do? In today's economy, I'd probably be unemployed. In better circumstances, I might go to law school and work for a non-profit. In a perfect world, I'd be a Tony-award winning director.
12.) Do you have any pets? Yes-more than I'll admit to in print.
13.) What is the most physically painful thing to ever happen to you? My nose was broken by a flying ski (long story).
14.) Who or what inspired you to become a professor? I've had so many inspirational people and moments in my life; I honestly can't pinpoint one.
15.) What are some of your goals within the next 5-10 years? Travel more, write more, read more, and have even more fun.
16.) What is one thing that you are almost embarrassed to admit you enjoy? I'm hopelessly addicted to reality TV.
17.) What was the biggest shock you have ever experienced in your life? My first earthquake. I actually thought experiencing an earthquake would be sort of fun and exciting. I was wrong.
18.) If you and the rest of the SSU professors were trapped in the mountains with no food, who would you eat first? Thankfully, I'm a vegetarian! So instead of eating anyone, I'd hit up the Natural Science folks to help me hunt for seeds and berries.
19.) What do you think MMMBop means? Ba duba dop.
20.) What would be your weapon of choice during a zombie attack? The Super Zombie Zapper 5000…or Play-doh.
